First serious start in VHF contest took place in 1st Subregional Tests in
March 2004 from Czersk Castle. We started on 144MHz and 432MHz. We were
mobilised to hard war on bands but reality was cruel - direction to SP5
was not popular. Final result: 55 QSOs and only 3 local on 70cm. How strong we were mobilised shows that Jarek come to us for few hours and went back
to Warsaw - his daughter was born at night.
On saturday afternoon we had also big and noisy company - first Saturday of March is day of traditional meeting of Warsaw Hams at bonfire and many of them visited
our shack.

In the meantime we bought transverter and 55 element F9FT Yagi antenna for 1296 MHz. We planned to start in SHF Contest.
In the early (before sunrise) morning of Sunday 6th June we went to the small, lost in forests, village called Ponurzyca. This village had to be highest place near Warsaw. We built up tent and mast with our new antenna.
But there was nothing to listen, maybe mosquitos wings buzz... Brr...
After few hours of thinking - is this really working? Tests with IC-Q1 (HIHI) we heard some morse code. What a surprise. But we are death to morse code, so we call on SSB. OM from SN7L call us and Rafal SQ9CWN made our first microwave QSO. We could go back home. Tired but happy.

In Summer VHF+ PZK Contest we started from mount Stog Izerski (1060m asl) in Izerskie Mountains.
We went there at Zdzislaw SP6LB invitation. Long way from Warsaw. We took a walk to see repeater SR6Z and nature wakeing up after years of acid rains. We also participated in meeting of Sudecki Department of PZK.
We started on 144, 432 and 1296 MHz. Big surprise for us was that we heard so many stations.

In Region 1 IARU September VHF Contest we started again fom Czersk Castle.
In working helped us Tomek SP5XMU, Bartek SP5QWB and Adam SP5XSC.
We were more experienced and this gave better result.
We used TACLog and Atalanta Locator instead of N1MM contest logger and found Atalanta more useful.

From Czersk Castle we started in Region 1 IARU October Microwave Contest.
Again helped us Adam SP5XSC - now our team member.
Stacked antennas for 432 MHz and hard work pay dividends. Also on 1296 MHz long (300 km) QSO raised our spirits.
This start finished our season - maybe we will start in MMC in year 2005.
